ABOUT THE PROPERTY

‘The Cobbles’ in a historic part of Eastbourne called ‘Little Chelsea’ is a romantic and cosy Grade II ‘Sussex stone’ property very close to the seafront for two people. Being so central and close to the Towner art gallery, I wanted some of the Sussex Artists’ work to influence the feel of this house. Ravilious and Eric Slater and the Lino Cut techniques are reflected in this home with original artwork, postcards and wallpaper. Books on the bookshelf have a common theme – the sea, nature and the senses. The house is full of natural wood in the floorings, doors, walls and window frames.

Little Chelsea is a vibrant Victorian shopping quarter with independent shops selling antiques, art, books, and homewares. There are good eateries at very good pubs and cafe’s. Grove Road and South Street make up the core of ‘Little Chelsea’. The light and airy Enterprise Centre sits on the edge of Little Chelsea. This lovely home is nestled in a fantastically central position with the Town, Sea, Downs and Eastbourne Station within walking distance. A car is not essential for this location.

‘Someone has put a lot of love and hard work into renovating this beautiful little cottage. We were also lucky with the weather! Lots of great places to eat in Eastbourne including The Dolphin round the corner and The Green Almond, a wonderful vegetarian café behind the Grand Hotel. We were glad it was warm enough to enjoy an Italian ice-cream along the promenade.’

 – Margaret and Jeremy from Purleigh, Essex.

‘Great location and cottage for walking everywhere. Perfect holiday!’

 – The Gordons from Sheffield.
